i'm so glad i got on the computer. my grievances--i'm upset that i started a thread asking about bottle refusal and only 2 people responded yet there were like 30 posts on what we call our dd's vagina's! (my dd has a "ginie" by the way. i was sulking and didn't post!) seriously, i think we should be able to post questions without being made to feel and dumb but also, on the other hand, to take advice and comments whether it's what we want to hear or not. and with nicky...i feel bad for the way she's being treated. it's not fair to her. whatever the story was, everyone was crazy to defend her and than crazy to destroy her. not nice. first, i think of her before tt (which i have no problem with, i pay the most attention to the women i post with) how funny she was and all the silly threads she started to lighten up our pregnancies. that was nice. and second, i've worked for restaurant owners and have seen them try to weasle out of an old lady falling when it was clearly their fault--that's what they do. and lastly, i understand voicing your opinion about group mentalities but maybe it could have been done in a nice way instead of doing it in the same attacking-manner that you are complaining about. that's it! good night! -k.

I can't believe I just wasted twenty minutes of my life reading that. I just wanted to let you know I tried to post in response to some things earlier today but the thread was deleted before I could. So before I type anything further I want you to know two things: A. I am on my brother's stupid Apple ibook and the keys suck and so there are bound to be typos. I am sure you can just add that to the list of reasons why I am a truly horrible person. B. I am a REAL PERSON and I have REAL FEELINGS. This is not some fictional character you are tearing apart, it's my life! The things that you say hurt me. I haven't been able to eat, or sleep, I'm shaky and feel physically ill. This whole thing is tearing me apart. I'm going to try to address things in an orderly fashion. ***When shiznit went down, why did you dip out?*** Well, let me tell you why. My day was started by getting up at six am after "sleeping" in a hotel room with two sick children who had been thrown out of their routine. Then we went to a dr. appt. that was supposed to take 4-5 hours, involve a variety of evaluations, and be very informative. Instead, I paid a buttload of money to spend less than an hour with a doctor I drove 200 miles each way to see and to watch her halfass the same evaluations my daughter has already had done a hundred times. Then she tells me that the results will be available mid-July. Uhhhm, what?? Early intervention is key but you want me to wait a month to find out what is wrong with my child? So that was disappointing. Then on the way home I get a nasty, threatening phone call from the manager of the restaurant threatening to sue me up, down, and sideways. We're talking about the possibility of me losing everything here. My day was already going down the tubes... then I get home and apparently the company has sent some mass email spouting all kinds of crazy BS designed to make me look like a loony and a liar. And guess what, I read two posts and I find out that people are eating it up! If it's one thing I've learned, it's don't trust the man, ever, because he's always out to screw you. This email contains some glaring inaccuracies and outright lies and contradictions to watch I was directly told by the manager. So now, I'm being attacked from all sides, my world is falling down around my head, and I really just don't want to watch people bash me based on some email they received. So I said you know what? I'm not going to read that crap because I don't need it. Many people had made up their minds already and to them whatever I said would not change anything they thought. ***Why does your original post not match the news story?*** There are two reasons for this that I can try to explain. First, you have to understand that my posts were written right after I got back from this happening. I was having an adrenaline rush, my pulse was racing, and I was not really thinking clearly. The way I typed wasn't as carefully or clearly worded as it could have been, and that is my own fault. Also, during the actual event I wasn't exactly breaking out a notepad to write down everything that occurred. You know that fight or flight response? Thats what I was having to that situation. I *thought* it was clear in my post, and apparently it was not, that she did not actually cover Catalina with a napkin. She came up to me, napkin in hand, and reached out toward me, not really so much to hand it to me, but more to thrust it at me (how on earth am I going to take a napkin from her? With what free hand?) and of course I immediately stepped back and turned my body away from her because no way is some loony going to touch my child. I have no doubt in my mind, however, that had she been given the opportunity, she would have done what she set out to do. So perhaps my poor use of semantics could have played into it. As for embellishment on my part, if there is any it is certainly not deliberate and certainly not with an intent to lie or otherwise trick anyone here, there, or anywhere else. So why does my story seem to change on the news? Well, a lot changed between the original response I received from the manager on Monday, when I assumed everything was said, done, over with to Wednesday, when I'm received threatening calls telling me what they are going to do to me in court. I don't know much about the legal system because I am not a lawyer, and it's really not one of those things that I wish to find out about firsthand. I DO NOT WANT TO BE SUED. So I made VERY sure, as much as possible, during the interview to remain positive toward the company so they couldn't cry slander and sue me. I worded things differently. They might seem to contradict my original post but honestly I don't feel that they do. But I certainly wasn't going to say anything to make this company come after me. I just don't have the resources to deal with that. ***Why post at all? Why not deal with it yourself?*** Have you ever done something, in the heat of the moment, that seemed like a great idea at the time and then later you feel like maybe it wasn't such a good idea? That is kind of how it went with this. As I mentioned before, I came to post immediately after we got home from dinner when I was still really distraught about the whole thing. I thought, and I still think, that one email from one mother would not get much response. But if they get twenty, or even fifty, emails saying "breastfeeding is legal and what your server did was wrong" they might be apt to take it more seriously. That was my train of thought. I've always come here in the past for support. I thought I would do so again. I posted it, originally, on my two birth boards. Then several people said "The BHB chicks are helpful, post to them" so I did that too. Other people posted it other places and it sort of got out of control. The fact of the matter there is that it definitely seems now like I didn't go about it in the right way. I fully admit that. I shouldn't have posted it here, but you know what, I did, and I can't change that. I also should have waited until I was calmer about it before taking any actions, but again, hindsight is 20/20. I didn't even really think to speak with a manager because I never saw one and by that point I just wanted to get out of there. Having fifteen people staring at you while you eat your meal, and not in a friendly way, will do that to you. I'm really losing my train of thought at this point so I'm getting pretty close to being done, and if you have any other questions as long as they are posed respectfully I will try to answer them. I did want to say, why does it matter whether my hair is red or pink? My siggy said pink, you'll notice I changed it while I wait for my new one to be made because the pink faded and I dyed it red. Hair color change happens...deal with it. I'm not quite sure how that's relevant anyways. I also don't know how I could be considered a skank. A skank, to my knowledge, is a person who is promiscuous in a dirty way. I am in a monogamous, married relationship, so that is obviously false. You might think I am a liar, but I do not agree. I would gain nothing by lying. Did I ask for anything besides help in letting this company know that breastfeeding mothers have every right to breastfeed in their restaurant? I never set out to ruin their business, I simply set out to right a wrong that was done to me. The fact of the matter is, with or without any type of napkin incident, asking a woman to stop breastfeeding is illegal. You can't do it as an employee on the clock. Bottom line. None of the other little nitpicking issues are even important in this. I guess I just do not understand why people would believe some corporate propaganda over me. They are out to cover their butts. As far as I am concerned, the incident is over and I won't be persuing it or discussing it anymore. The employees were retrained and the news piece hopefully served to educate more people on the laws. If anything, especially after the news report, I think the company comes out looking good rather than bad. They did what they should have done in this situation and I bet that no breastfeeding mother will have trouble in their restaurant again. I'd also like to point out that all of the attacks against tunas are irrelevant. I am a tuna, but my viewpoints and actions certainly do not represent the opinions or actions of the group as a whole. I'd like you to find posts where I am rude, mocking, and mean to people. I bet there are very few, if any, because that's not my style. Even if I don't like a person, I usually keep my trap shut. I really can't remember anything else that I wanted to say. I hope that you'll consider what I've said and for the love of god, move on. I'm really trying to because I have a lot of personal IRL things happening that deserve more of my time and attention that they are not getting because I am just sick over this. Here are my thoughts FWIW- I feel bad for Nicky, I support her and NIP etc. Some people need to let go and not get so angry on here, although maybe if I did it would take the heat off of BF some. I consider myself a pretty honest person now...but if I had every word coming out of my mouth written down to be later held against me, I'd be in deep shy-it. Since this is a FFA, the only thing I have to say (which has been said a few times already) is that... well, I'm not sure how to say it. It's a combination of things... But the making fun of the FTMs or the dumb question threads is super annoying. It's one thing to post educational and/or helpful posts to the person asking the question. It's another to do that and then draw others attention to the post in other areas of the board and make a whole bunch of people run over to give their opinion where they might not have even bothered. Blah, I'm super tired. It's just the drama. Don't be a flying monkey! Give your opinion but if you want to roll your eyes and make fun of it, that's where it sucks. It's not the Lions, the Tunas, the Chunkie Monkies... whoever... it's a few people who do it, not a whole gang or posse. Craziness...
